He died earlier today. If one word could describe him, it is: Compassion.

And Sherwin Nuland, thank you for writing How we die: Reflections of life's final chapter.  I think it good to be reminded of our mortality every once a while. As much as it takes away the fear of death, it helps to stay grounded.
